Obituary of Robert Jiang

Robert Jiang, age 64 of Gallatin, TN, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Sunday, October 7^th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, Gallatin, TN 37066.  Visitation will be Sunday, October 7^th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Jiang was born September 20, 1954 in China.  He is preceded in death by father, Run Guo Jiang.  He is survived by mother, Li Chang Liu Jiang of San Francisco, CA; son, George Jiang of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers, Yao Hai Jiang (Puying Li) of Smyrna, TN, Yao Qin Jiang (Jin Liu) of San Jose, CA, and Johnny Jiang (Connie) of Fremont, CA; sister, Shirley Jiang (Zhi-Jie Ni) of Fremont, CA; nieces, Annie Jiang of Nashville, TN and Jacinda Ni of Fremont, CA; and nephews, Donald Jiang of San Jose, CA, Victor Jiang of San Jose, CA, Adrian Jiang of San Jose, CA, Koen Jiang of San Jose, CA, and Jeffrey Ni of Fremont, CA.

Mr. Jiang immigrated to the United States in 1985. As a skilled chef, he worked at numerous restaurants in the Bay Area and Central Valley of California, Tuscon, Arizona, and Nashville, Tennessee before starting his own restaurant in South Boston, Virginia.  In 1994, he resettled in Gallatin, operating Panda Chinese Restaurant until 2016. Mr. Jiang was an avid tennis player, sailor, do-it-yourselfer, and day trader. He is remembered by his family and friends for his energy and optimism.
