Obituary of Beth Marie Barnett

Beth Marie Barnett, 62, of Lebanon, TN, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 4, 2018. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Andrew (Andy) Barnett, whom she married on November 7, 1992. Beth was born to George Wilmot and Clarissa Suggs Benton, on August 14, 1956. She was a 1974 graduate of John Overton High School in Nashville. In 1988, Beth earned her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Communications from the University of Memphis. Beth began working for the United States Postal Service in 1977 and held many positions over her almost 41 year career, until retiring in February 2018 after serving several years as the Postmaster of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.

As a young girl, Beth gave her heart and life to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and served Him faithfully with the blessed assurance she would spend eternity with Him. She was a member of Encounter Church in Lebanon. 

Beth was preceded in death by her parents. In addition to her husband, Andy, she is survived by three sisters, Patsy Benton Wade of Franklin, TN, Janet H. Benton of Nashville, TN and Shirley Benton Eaves (Larry) of Brighton, TN. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, four great-great nephews and one great-great niece. 

A memorial service to celebrate Beth's life will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon, TN. There will be a brief visitation time from 5-6 pm with the service beginning at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to benefit brain cancer research at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
