Obituary of David Timothy Carr

David Timothy Carr, age 84 of Gallatin, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Autumn Cove Assisted Living in Anniston, AL.  Memorial Service will be Saturday, November 17th at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, with Bro. Jason Rich officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday, November 17th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m.  Memorials may be made to The Veranda Ministries, 650 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN  37066.

Mr. Carr was preceded in death by his parents: Leroy Carr and Esther Haynes Carr; his son, Gary Lee Carr; his first wife, Annie Orene Chastain and one step-son, Mike Collier.  He is survived by his wife, Ann L. Carr of Gallatin, TN; three sons: Randy Carr (Patti) of Wellington, AL, Glen Carr (Johnna) of Jackson, GA and Tim Carr (Carrie) of Huntsville; one step-daughter, Cathy Stasek (Frank) of Castalian Springs, TN; one step-son, Steve Collier (Julie) of Gallatin, TN; four sisters: Ann Toowey, Shirley Towne, Beauna Carr and Merry Cook (Terry); two brothers: Roy Carr and Terry Carr (Paulette); 8 grandchildren: Evan Carr (Tiffany), Amber Paulk (Michael), Kelsey Taylor (Todd), Lorri Robinson (Longsworth), Ava Carr, Mincy Sealey (Jeremy), Davis Carr and Mitchell Carr; 8 step-grandchildren, Lauren Ann Bingham, Kristen Olson (Dave), Paige Stasek, Connor Stasek, Colt Collier (Kassie), Scarlett Collier, Dylan Collier, and Megan Gregory (Josh); 4 great-grandchildren, Jack Robinson, Luke Paulke, Sullivan Paulke, Cash Taylor, Olivia Taylor, and Ava Carr; and 13 step-great grandchildren, Mikaya McNeil, Gaven McNeil, Michael Bingham, Olivia Olson, Will Olson, Jackson Collier, Deacon Collier, Cam Collier, Gus Collier, Addison Collier, Landon Gregory, Mallory Gregory, and Kylie Jo Gregory.

He was a Calhoun County native and a former resident of Huntsville, AL where he had worked as a government employee in logistics at Redstone Arsenal for over 34 years. Mr. Carr had served as president of the Kiwanis Club and was a former member of the Crime Stoppers organization here in Gallatin.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, TN, where he served in the choir, orchestra, Sunday School, Promise Keepers and various church outreach programs.  He also attended Impact Fellowship in Gallatin, TN.
