Obituary of Dorothy Atteberry

Dorothy Atteberry, age 79 of Portland, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 1^st at 3:00 p.m. at New Testament Apostolic Church, 7541 Bethel Road, Goodletsville, TN  37072, with Bro. Wayne Dodd officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday, December 1^st from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alive Hospice, 510 Hospital Road, Madison, TN  37115.

Mrs. Atteberry was born September 22, 1939, in Portland to the late David H. Mink and Maudie Belcher Mink.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Meredith Allen Atteberry; son, Denis Griffin; and brother, David Mink.  She is survived by children, Shannon Kephart Bilyeu of Portland, Michael Griffin of Portland, and Richard Griffin (Donna) of Paris, TN; brother, Gary Mink (Helen) of White House; sister, Barbara Searcy (Jim) of Moscow, TN; 6 grandchildren, Jessica Crafton, Jenna Crafton (Billy Jenkins), Rhianna Griffin, B. G. Griffin, Aiden Griffin, and Lexi McDougal; and 2 great grandchildren, Jesse Summer and Ryder Jenkins.  Mrs. Atteberry retired from the Sumner County School System after 31 years of service, where she worked as a teacher’s assistant in Special Education and as a Special Education Bus Driver.  Online condolences may be submitted at lexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
