Obituary of Kathleen Robinson Brewington

Kathleen Esther Robinson Brewington passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2018 at her home in Lebanon, Tennessee. She was born on October 3, 1920 in Old Hickory, Tennessee. She attended Andrew Jackson School. She was a Christian from the age of twelve and a faithful member of her church. She served as Church Historian, Bible School Teacher, and a Member of the Eastern Star. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, as well as Grandmother to four generations. Most knew her as Muzzie, a nickname from a young grandchild who pronounced Mother as Muzzer. She demonstrated gentle kindness and generosity to her neighbors, family and community, growing fruits and vegetables to give to others, canning her own preserves as gifts, and sewing and quilting twelve quilts by hand for members of her family and friends. An extraordinary self- taught cook, she fed generations and countless friends with rolled biscuits, jams, freshly grated coconut cake, fried pies, relishes, pickles, fruits and vegetables from her own garden, homegrown and homemade from scratch. Those that met her knew of her brilliance, wisdom, wit and smile, always for the benefit and care of others. She demonstrated a Christian kindness, contentment and peace to those around her all her life until her passing.

She is survived by: her son Curtis (Sue) Brewington and daughter Jean (Denny) Bottorff

Great- Great- Grandchildren: Brooklyn Harrington, Paige (Dylan) Jackson, Marcus Duncan, Jr. Aaliyah Duncan, Robert Jones, Haley Hollands, Brandon Wright, Kameron Williams, Alayah Williams, Kiley Moore and Campbell Charpia

Great- Great- Great Grandchildren: Madelyn Jackson, Rhett Jackson.

She was preceded in Death by Her parents: Thomas and Martha Robinson, her husband of 68 years, Jesse Lee Brewington, her siblings: of Dow Robinson, Irene (Arthur) Brewington, Alfred (Francis) Robinson, Harce (Dee) Robinson, Alvin (Roxie) Robinson, Nathan Robinson, Carine (Hack) Robinson, and her daughter, Betty Sue Holden.

Reverend Gordon Lee will conduct the Funeral Service at Sellars Funeral Home on Sunday, December 9th, 2018 at 1pm. Visitation is Saturday from 1-5 pm and Sunday before the service beginning at 11am. The private Family Committal will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens in Hermitage, TN immediately after.
