Obituary of Eddie Shannon

Eddie Shannon, age 84 of Gallatin passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 27^th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Stephen Russell officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26^th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 27^th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Gary Bates, Chris Bates, Tyler Julian, D. J. Shannon, Dennis Williams, Rogan Bates, and Hinson Lancaster serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Shannon was born March 26, 1934 in Yale, OK to the late Richard Houston Shannon and Corda Mae Bigby Shannon.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by son, Rickey Shannon; granddaughter, Brande Butler, sisters, Geneva Brown, Virginia Armstrong, Marg Besser, and Irene McClean; and brothers, Richard Shannon, Bill Shannon, and Johnny Shannon.  He is survived by wife of 66 years, June Eades Shannon of Gallatin; daughters, Sandra Butler of Murfreesboro, Karen Bates (Gary) of Bethpage, and Beth Julian (Pat) of Gallatin; son, David Shannon (Stella) of Springfield; sisters, Peggy Garcia, Barbara Shannon, and Pat Payne all of California; 13 grandchildren, Richie Shannon (Cindy), April Barton (Adam), Jessey Shannon, Lacie Nichols (Travis), Chris Bates (Laura), Shannon Lancaster (John), Brandon Farrell (Nicole), Tyler Julian, Nick Julian, Amber Coble (Joseph), Michael Shannon (Ashley), David “D. J.” Shannon, and Taylor Shannon; and 27 great grandchildren.  Mr. Shannon retired from Peterbilt after 35 years of service.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
