Obituary of Harold G. "Hal" Chute

Harold G. “Hal” Chute, age 90, passed away on February 4th, 2019.

 

            Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 6th, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet.

 

Hal graduated from Mt. Sterling, Illinois High School in 1946 and later graduated from International Airline School. He served in the military during the Korean War. For 36 years, he worked for American Airlines in the Scheduled Airline Traffic Office (SATO). Hal was also a member of the Veteran’s Club at Del Webb, a Lake Providence singer, a Deacon in the Baptist Church, and a member of the Del Webb Garden Club and Bible study group.

 

He is survived by loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy Austiff Chute; children, Michael Douglas (Kathie) Chute, Glenna Lynn (Sam) Spadaro and children and grandchildren by marriage, and Carla Rae (Keith) Coe and children and grandchildren by marriage; grandchildren, Ryan Douglas (Chrissy) Chute and their children, Hannah and Owen and Kristen Leigh – Anne (Jon) Tillman and their children, Ellie and Emma; brother, Calvin Chute; sisters – in – law, Shirley Chute, Jan Chute, and Francie Chute; brother – in – law, Randy (Kay) Austiff; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by parents, Donald and Cecil Herron Chute; brothers, LaVern (Wanda) Chute, Gale (Bonnie) Chute, Marion Chute, and Harlan Chute; sister – in – law, Rosie Chute.

 

 

            In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Lake Providence Veterans Club, C/O Dick Erdman, 1100 Bastion Circle, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122.
