Obituary of Billy J. Deering, Sr.

Billy J. Deering, Sr., age 83 of Gallatin, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019.  Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 27^th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Johnny Carver officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday, February 26^th from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 27^th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with Ron Key, Kerry Williams, Donnie Cummins, Jeff Knowlton, Mike Deering, and John Utley serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Deering was born January 13, 1936 in Sumner County to the late Leslie James Deering and Rena Mai Denney Deering.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Foster Deering; and brother, Leon Deering.  He is survived by wife, Wilma Durham Deering; son, Billy J. Deering, Jr. (Julie) of Texas; daughter, Terri Lynn Heib (John) of Virginia; sisters, Hazel Bennett of Gallatin, Irene Dickens (Rieble) of Portland, Dottie Williams (Tommy) of Gallatin, and Carolyn Key (Billy) of Gallatin; and 3 grandchildren.
