Nora Jemira Lyerla, age 90 of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on February 27th, 2019 after a long illness. She was born in Swainsboro, Georgia on June 24th, 1928 and married James E. Lyerla on December 28th, 1952. She attended business school and worked as a secretary for several years in addition to serving as a military wife for 30 years. Mrs. Lyerla was a Christian who devoted her time to her family and to her church. She had a sweet, quiet spirit and was dearly loved by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2nd from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
She is survived by daughter, Sharon Marie Haines; son, James Ray Lyerla; grandsons, Adam Haines and James Ray Lyerla, Jr.; great – grandchildren, Braiden Haines, Harley Haines, Hunter Haines, and Acelyn Williams; 3 sisters also survive. She was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie and Mary Smith; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital: 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
