Obituary of June Ditty Garrott

June Ditty Garrott, age 90 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019.  Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 9th at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 167 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN  37066, with Rev. Candice Klein and Dr. Charles Moffatt officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, March 8th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 9th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m., all at First Presbyterian Church.  Interment will follow the service at Gallatin Cemetery, with Stan Ragon, Ryan Freeman, Robert Hunter, Josh Sudbury, Caleb Dodd, Daniel Fowler, Houston Mason, Avery Fowler, and Ricky Donley serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Historic Rose Mont, P. O. Box 554, Gallatin TN, 37066 or Historic Cragfont, 300 Cragfont Road, Castalian Springs, TN  37031, or Gallatin First Presbyterian Church, 167 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN  37066.

Mrs. Garrott was born February 25, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to the late Jimmy C. Ditty and Mary Hogan Ferrell.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, John Baker Garrott.  She is survived by son, Johnny Garrott (Pam) of Gallatin; daughters, Jane Sudbury (Steve) of Gallatin and Betsy Hunter (Jim) of Gallatin; sister, Ruth Puryear of Hendersonville; 8 grandchildren, Robert Hunter (Alicia), Rachel Dodd (Caleb), Karen Freeman (Ryan), Amy Ragon (Stan), Josh Sudbury (Chelsea), Olivia Garrott, Mary Jane Fowler (Avery), and Heather Bugbee (Daniel); 13 great grandchildren, Lily Hunter, Myra Hunter, James Hunter, Addie Dodd, Finn Dodd, Will Ragon, Jane Claire Ragon, Mia Freeman, Eli Freeman, Jack Sudbury, Charlie Sudbury, Emerson Bugbee, Caroline Bugbee, James Blakemore Sudbury, and to be born in April, June Davis Bugbee.

Mrs. Garrott was a wonderful mother and homemaker and the “woman behind the man”.  She loved to play bridge.  She was a member of Gallatin First Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon, and was chair of the “Party Committee”.  June was very involved in Girl Scouts; the Garden Club; Rose Mont, serving as Treasurer; Historic Cragfont, serving as past President, Secretary, and Treasurer; Historical Society; and Home Demonstration Club.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
