Obituary of Ruby T. Gregory

Ruby T. Gregory, age 89 of Gallatin, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, March 12th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Rev. Eugene Martino officiating.  Visitation will be Monday, March 11th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, March 12th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Gregory was born December 13, 1929 in Sumner County to the late Will McCoin and Lena “Leaner” Trammell McCoin.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Gifford G. Gregory; brothers, Leon McCoin, Billy McCoin, Dick McCoin, and Ollie McCoin; and sisters, Annie Rippy, Eathel Rippy, Wilma Bradley, and Birdie Stinson.  She is survived by son, Raymond Gregory (Jennifer) of Hendersonville; brothers, Alton McCoin (Margaret) of Portland, Roy McCoin of Portland, and Jerry Wayne McCoin (Sue) of Florida; sisters, Lizzie Finn (Lewis) of Portland and Peggy McGlothlin (Ralph) of Portland; 4 grandchildren, Robert Avaritt (Katherine), Michael Gregory (Sherri), Bryan Gregory, and Grace Bryant; and 5 great grandchildren, Isabella Avaritt, Jamie Avaritt, Kristin Avaritt, Hunter Gregory, and William Gregory.  Mrs. Gregory worked at Gary Company “Shirt Factory”, Gallatin Health Care, and later retired from the Sumner County School System after many years of service, with most of her years at the Vena Stuart.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
