Obituary of Dorothy Wright Tomkins

Dorothy Wright Tomkins, (“Matmama”), age 94 of Gallatin, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019.  Graveside Service will be Saturday, March 23rd at Crestview Memory Gardens at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. John Penfield officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, March 22nd from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 23rd from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. all at Family Heritage Funeral Home.  She will be honored with her grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers. 

Mrs. Tomkins was born December 19, 1924 in Franklin, KY to the late Raymond Wright and Ruby Cope Wright.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, John R. A. Tomkins; and sister, Helen Wilkes.  She is survived by children, John R. McKinney of Gallatin, William R. Tomkins, Sr. (Gail) of Gallatin,  Dorothy Hall of Gallatin, and James R. Tomkins (Cindy) of Gallatin; 8 grandchildren, Matt Hall (Alicia), Sarah Maddux (Joseph), Emily Hall, John Robert Tomkins (Jennifer), Mary Elizabeth Tomkins, William Tomkins, Jr. (Carly), Cal Tomkins, and John Archer McKinney (Indra); 9 great grandchildren, Carter Riemenschneider, Caroline Riemenschneider, Madeline Riemenschneider, Nicholas Collins, Elizabeth Rose Tomkins, Joshua Hall, Masin Hall, Ashlin Rye, and Miranda McKinney; and nieces, Shelia Morrison and Shelby Bursby.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
