Obituary of Martha F. Sims

Martha F. Sims, age 93 of Castalian Springs, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019.  Graveside Service will be Monday, April 22^nd at 2:00 p.m. at Gallatin Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday, April 22^nd from 12:00 p.m. until time to leave for the cemetery at Family Heritage Funeral Home.  Honoring her memory as pallbearers will be Scotty Sims, Wayne Lackey, Ricky Moss, Kenny Sims, Ronnie Hale, and Cody Carpenter.

Mrs. Sims was born January 17, 1926 in Sumner County to the late Jerdan Moss and Mattie Hall Moss.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Herlan Alvin “Buster” Sims; sons, Albert Sims and Alvin Sims brothers, Clarence “Tincey” Moss, Sam “Humpy” Moss, Pete Moss, and Fred “Shortie” Moss; sister, Jean “Bessie” Gilbert; great grandson, Jeffrey Sims; and daughter-in-law, Ruby Sims.  She is survived by son, Kenny Sims of Gallatin; daughters, Linda Hale (Ronnie) of Cross Plains and Jean Crowder of Gallatin; sisters, Louise “Doe Doe” Moss of Castalian Springs, Bula “Cricket” Lackey of Castalian Springs, and Lula “Biggie” Hesson of Gallatin; 4 grandchildren, Tammy Carpenter, Scotty Sims, Lisa Heyn (Richy), and Misti Gregory; and 2 great grandchildren, Cody Carpenter and Hunter Gregory.  Mrs. Sims retired from Genesco after 15 years of service.  She worked at many restaurants, including Stage Coach, Blue Iris, and Stratton’s.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
