Obituary of Thomas Randall Cole

Thomas Randall Cole, age 58 of Portland, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019.  Funeral Service will be Friday, April 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Woody Alderson and Bro. Lance Carter officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, April 25th from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Friday, April 26th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Josh Grimm, Richard Hardaway, Trevor Joyner, Donald Cole, Jeff Carter, Edgar “Flipper” Copeland, Jeff Pearson, and Robert Hinegardner serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are James Cole, Derek Rice, Elvis Bush, Stephen Hardaway, Blake Hardaway, Walter Hardaway, and Thomas K. Cole.

Mr. Cole was born March 28, 1961 in Hartsville to the late James David Cole and Margaret Graves Cole Leonard.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by grandson, Qjari Joyner; and sisters, Mary Ann Grimm, Dovie Pearson, and Deborah Crowder.  He is survived by wife of 35 years, Vickie L. Watson Cole of Portland; daughters, Ashley Joyner (Trevor) of Portland and Jessica Hardaway of Portland; brothers, James Cole (Jana) of Paducah, KY, Donald Cole of Hartsville, and J. J. Cole of North Carolina; sisters, Wanda McGee of Castalian Springs and Betty Rice (Derek) of Gallatin; 8 grandchildren, Stephen Hardaway, Blake Hardaway, Walter Hardaway, Josephine Hinegardner, Thomas K. Cole, Olivia Joyner, Keshawn Joyner, and DaAisha Joyner.  Thomas worked at Triple S. Market as manager, Flipper’s Bait and Tackle, and was co-owner of Gallatin Cab for over 20 years.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
