Obituary of Edna P. Ramsey

Edna P. Ramsey, age 92, died April 29th, 2019. Mrs. Ramsey was born in the Rockbridge Community of Sumner County on September 23, 1926. Preceded in death by parents, Dewey Lanier Pryor and Lavetta Pryor; husbands, Shelby Sanders and Bob Ramsey; and brothers, Otis Pryor and Denver Pryor. She is survived by sons, Michael Desha Sanders of Ann Arbor, MI and Mark Steven (Rosemary) Sanders of Nashville, TN; stepchildren, Marilyn (Ray) Barnes and James Robert (Bobbie) Ramsey. The oldest of eight children, Sis’ sisters include Marjorie George, Mabel Clodfelter, Rebecca Barham, Martha Monday, and Gayla (Ed) Templeton. Grandchildren include Rebecca and Patrick Sanders and step-grandchildren, Christina (Cam) Maclean, Kendra (Bobby) Jackson, Karen (Todd) Redmon, Leigh (Greg) Mangum, and Jennifer (Lee) Ridgeway.  Aunt Sis had nineteen nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Sumner County, Edna was a member of First Baptist Church of Gallatin and attended Perry McArthur’s Sunday School Class. Edna retired from the City of Gallatin. She loved sharing her gifts of cooking and entertaining. A member of numerous bridge clubs for 65 years, she played her highest hand at 88.  A resident of Morningside of Gallatin, the family would like to thank the staff and Highpoint Hospice for their loving care. Her favorite charity was St. Jude Children’s Research.
