Obituary of Georgia Sutton Ray

Georgia Sutton Ray, age 90 of Goodlettsville, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 21st at 12:00 p.m. at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN  37075, with Rev. Malcolm Patton and Pastor Jeff DeWeese officiating.  Visitation will be Monday, May 20th from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, and Tuesday, May 21st from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at the church.  Interment will follow the service at Beech Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are the members of John Knox Sunday School Class.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN  37075, or Beech Cemetery Association, 3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN  37075.

Mrs. Ray was born October 25, 1928 in Sumner County to the late George Ollie Sutton and Lura Alice Ralph Sutton.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Wallace Ernest Ray; daughter, Lysandra Brewington; son-in-law. Mike Brewington; brother, Kenneth Sutton; and sister, Effie Edna Sutton.  She is survived by daughters, Debbie Duke (David) of Goodlettsville and Susan Ray of Hendersonville; brothers, Alvin Sutton (Donna) of Goodlettsville and Jim Sutton of Goodlettsville; sisters, Peggy Hall of Goodlettsville, Fay Smith (Pete) of Goodlettsville, and Alice Thompson of Goodlettsville; 4 grandchildren, Misty Armstrong (Mickey), Mandy Bundy (Gene), Melissa Toms (Jay), and Casey Duke; and 8 great grandchildren, Garrett Armstrong, Grant Armstrong, Victoria Collins, Scarlett Bundy, Maverick Bundy, Jase Toms, John David Toms, and Camden Toms.  Mrs. Ray retired from Tennessee State Government.  She was a life-long member of Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
