Obituary of JB King

JB King, age 87 of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, passed away on May 20th, 2019. Mr. King served in the United States Army as a First Class Sergeant from 1952 – 1954. Throughout his service, he received various medals including: the United Nations Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Good Conduct medal, Army Commendation, the Korean Service Medal, and the Nation Defense Service Medal. JB then went on to work for Western Electric, where he retired in 1983. He was a handyman and loved to work in his yard.

 

The Funeral Service, conducted by Pastor Jeff Streszoff, will be held on Thursday, May 23rd, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Interment will follow in Dixon Springs Cemetery with Preston Wakefield, Jody Ussery, Logan Watson, Jimmy Cunningham, and Tommy Ussery serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers: Ray Bass and John Kolbe. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, May 23rd from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

 

He is survived by loving wife of 33 years, Marjorie King; children, Lori (Jody) Ussery, Preston (Key) Wakefield, and Mary Lynn (Jerome) Watson; grandchildren, Brittany Ussery, Jake Watson, and Logan Watson; great – grandchildren, Jensen Watson and Hanna Watson.
