Obituary of Douglas Bruner

Douglas Bruner, passed away on Sunday, August 25^th, 2019, at the age of 72. The family will receive friends for a visitation at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet on Friday, August 30^th, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

There will be a family gathering on Saturday, September 21st, 2019 at Nain Lutheran Church in Newell, Iowa, (441 W Jensen St, Newell, IA 50568) from 2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. An open visitation will follow for friends of the family and loved ones on Saturday, September 21st from 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Doug is survived by wife of 48 years, Cynthia Laursen Bruner; three sons, Jerod (Nicole) Bruner, Rhett (Autumn) Bruner, and Garrett (Lydia) Bruner; grandchildren, Linden, Mila, Laursen, and Landry.

Doug was a Vietnam Veteran and a devoted family man. He loved being a “Grandpa” and enjoyed fishing and golfing.
