Obituary of James Lee Belcher

James Belcher passed away on November 20, 2019 at age 92.  The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.  The Funeral Service is 2 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home.  Interment will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2019 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville TN.

               Mr. Belcher served his country in the United States Navy during WWII on U.S.S. Antietam(CV-36).  He returned home the military and married his wife, Patricia Jackson and they had 2 children. He was devoted and a loving husband to Patricia A. Belcher for 66 years and a beloved father to Steve Belcher and Betty Belcher Larson. He was the founder of Plan Service in Donelson, TN where he worked for over 40 years.  He was a lifetime member of the Donelson-Hermitage Rotary Club where he served as President, Sergeant-at-Arms and volunteered for many organizations over the years including, Big Brother. He was well known for his successful ground planning of the Smyrna Airshow, which he loved doing. Mr. Belcher was also a member of the American Legion Post 88 and was part of the Color Guard for many years. One of things he enjoyed the most was playing cards with his friends and winning. He volunteered at the Nashville VA for over 30 years.  Mr. Belcher attended Lebanon Road Church of Christ.  Mr. Belcher is survived by children: Steven Belcher and Betty Belcher Larson; grandchildren: Trish (Brian) Wiggins, Lauren (Adam) Moore, Lindsey Rash, and Tina Larson (Rick) Bettencourt; great-grandchildren: Julia Moore, Tyler Wiggins, Kailah Wiggins, Keaton Larson, Autumn Larson, Alexis Rash, Kalin Rash, Preston Poyner, Ashleigh Price, Blake Haller, Summer Butterworth and Hunter Butterworth; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings: William Earl (Betty) Belcher and Wilma (James) Slaughter.  He is preceded in death by wife Patricia Ann Jackson Belcher, son-in-law Thomas Larson, grandson Michael Larson, granddaughter Brandi Haller, parents Bessie Bolton and Cebren Belcher, sisters Kitty Romaine, Aileen Nauman, and Thelma Belcher, and brother Howard Belcher.  Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, 615.444.9393.
