Obituary of Evonne McLawhorn Cheek

Evonne McLawhorn Cheek, age 89 of Gallatin, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019.  Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 23rd at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Rev. James Johnson and Bro. Bob Snell officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, November 22nd from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 23rd from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Cheek was born August 27, 1930 in Ayden, NC to the late James Ray McLawhorn and Lillian Baldre McLawhorn.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Carl Leon Cheek; granddaughter, Keri Leigh Brown; brother, James Ray McLawhorn; and sister, Margaret Stokes.  She is survived by son, Randel L. Cheek (Gabriela) of Columbia; daughter, Carla Brown (Lonnie) of Gallatin; and 5 grandchildren, Randal Logan Cheek, Gavlan Leon Cheek, Kami Lynn Brown, and Madison Valentina Cheek.  Mrs. Cheek worked for Gallatin Livestock, Gallatin Truck Sales, and retired from the City of Gallatin Parks and Recreation after many years of service.  After retirement, she worked for Cracker Barrell in the gift shop.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
