Obituary of Florence Sutherland

Mrs. Florence “June” Sutherland, age 84 passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 in a local hospital. She was born and raised in Pleasant Shade, TN but had lived in the Chattanooga area for over 50 years. June was preceded in death by: parents, N.E. and Ruth Jones; daughter, Helen West; husband, Bill Sutherland; 2 sisters, Alma Gregory & Mary Lou Taylor and 2 brothers, J.B. & Billy Jones. June is survived by: children, Calvin (Linda) Holder-Hendersonville, TN, Charlene (Bob) Stephenson-Chattanooga; 7 grandchildren, Scott (Misty) West, Wendy (Andy) Thomas, Angie Iveson, Cheston (April) Holder, Brandon (Holly) Holder, Jenny (Adam) Thomas and Jessica (Tim) Aslinger; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; sister, Mae Carver and brother, Ray Beasley Jones-both of Lafayette, TN and many nieces and nephews. Also, her beloved and spoiled dog and companion, Rocky. Memorial services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, August 17, 2013 in the chapel of Anthony Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dixon Springs Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until service time Saturday. June will be laid to rest with her parents and very much loved daughter, Helen. We are going to miss you Mom, but we know that you are now without pain and are at peace. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and concern over the last few weeks and also, a special thank you to her neighbors who watched out for her and gave her friendship.
