Obituary of Margie Reese Griffin

Margie Reese Griffin, age 84 of Gallatin, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019. Funeral Service will be Monday, December 30th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Charles Anderson and Bro. Lance Carter officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 29th from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. and Monday, December 30th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Griffin was born June 7, 1935 in Gallatin to the late John Thomas Bruce, Sr. and Bertha May Buck Bruce. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Edward Duane Griffin; son, Mark Allen Griffin; siblings, Mildred Morris, John Thomas Bruce, Jr., William Bruce, Mary Graham, Ethel Winfrey, Helen Ligon, Willie Clements, Geraldean Cherry, Henry Bruce, and Hazel Huckaba. She is survived by son, Michael “Cotton” Griffin (Vicki) of Bethpage; daughters, Julie Griffin (Sandra) of Gallatin, Suzy Gentry (Mark) of Gallatin, and Roschelle Dixon (Earl) of Gallatin; sisters, Margaret “Maggie” Combs of Indianapolis, Indiana and Dorothy McNeill of Gallatin; 12 grandchildren, Lorie Tuck (Michael), Candice Downs, Justin Dixon, Misty Kacar (Milan), Kristin Griffin, Jay Griffin (Amanda), Matt Griffin, Angie Brown (Randy), Cynthia Duvall (Josh), Josh Heath, Kellye Proctor (Mark), and Corey Gentry; 23 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild, Paisley.
