Obituary of Marie Gough

Marie Gough, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, formerly of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee on Friday, March 27th, 2020 at the beautiful age of 91. At her request, there will be no services held. She is survived by loving son, Glen (Sharron) Gough of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; son-in-law, Dennis (Debbie) Carper of Jefferson City, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren, Chad (Cindy) Gough, Nathan (Brooke) Carper, Heather (Cody) Pyle, Janessa Carper, Kevin (Kayla) Carper, Scot (Dawn) Cheetham, and Brian (Julie) Cheetham; 13 great-grandchildren, Sierra and Gabrielle Carper, Avery and Kendall Pyle, Sophie and Ellie Gough, Jenna, Gavin and Jack Taylor, Jax Carper, Charlie and Jule Cheetham, Lindsay Cheetham, and Isaac (Olivia) Hughes; dear sister, Marguerite (John) Godbey of Sissonville, West Virginia; a host of nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by husband, Skoval Kay Gough, who passed in 1996; and daughter, Ginger Kay Carper, who passed in 2002 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Marie Whited was born on Saturday, March 9th, 1929 in Lonewillow, West Virginia to late Hubert and Addie Kelley Whited. Marie was a bookkeeper for many Roane County businesses for 46 years. She was a member of West End Church of Christ in Knoxville, Tennessee and a member of Wetzel Chapter No. 27 Order of The Eastern Star for over 50 years. Mrs. Gough had a love for reading and enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. She loved her family above all and will be truly missed by those who knew her sweet spirit.
