Obituary of Sterling York

Sterling York, age 88 of Gallatin, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020. There will be a private service on Thursday, April 2nd. Mr. York was born July 2, 1931 in Sumner County. Mr. York is preceded in death by wife Peggy Pearson York; parents; brothers; and sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Penny Witcher (Mike) of Glasgow, KY, Gloria Ann Tenpenny (David) of Gallatin, and Teresa Williams (Danny) of Hartsville; 6 grandchildren, Alan, Jason, Richard, Amber, Bethany, and Shannan; and 1 great grandchild, Chasity. Mr. York served our country in the Army National Guard; he also served in the 168 Military Police from 1949 – 1951 and Sterling later served in the 123 Armored Fort Knox, KY for 2 years.
