Obituary of Sompong Susan Moss

Sompong “Susan” Moss, age 65 of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020. A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Dr. Travis Fleming officiating. Visitation will be private. Sompong, born on November 9, 1954 to parents Phan and Suphi Siritungkome, was originally from Udon Thani Province Thailand. In 1972 she left Thailand and settled in America, where she went on to live in various states throughout the country. She is survived by her spouse of 11 years, Jerry Moss; three children, Michele, Michael, and Mark; two stepchildren, Teresa and Jason; a handful of loving grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Sompong has various family members still in Thailand, Holland, and in the United States. Sompong had an abundant love for God, her family, and all of her pets. She had a passion for flower and vegetable gardening and arranging beautiful flower bouquets to give to people in order to brighten up their day. She enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. She also loved oil painting and had quite the collection, with more than 500 pieces. To see her paintings is to appreciate what she was thinking and feeling. Each and every one of them is so beautiful and unique. She loved her family so much and never met a stranger. Those who had a chance to meet her instantly felt the authentic purity of her love. The sound of her voice when she sang praises to the Lord, her laugh when she would cut corny jokes, and anything that came out of her mouth was such joy. If she was hurt or displeased, she let it be known and those around her knew she was right. She always spoke deeply from within her soul. She was always putting others before herself. She often brought pots of rice and pans of food to share with work mates. She was known to give money to strangers in need. When asked how she knew if they really needed it, she replied, “That's okay, honey. Just give if you can and help others and one day the Lord will bless us for doing so.” She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She would teach them what she called “life tips and how to survive”—gardening, cooking, cleaning, and loving the scripture of God. All of her siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, children, and grandchildren love her very much! Sompong “Susan” Moss will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
