Obituary of Billie Louise Haskins

HASKINS, Billie Louise, age 87 of Nashville, passed away April 30, 2020. Mrs. Haskins was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joe Haskins; parents, William Appleby and Ellen Grissom; step-father, Hugh B. Grissom; brother, Ed Appleby. She is survived by sons, Kenneth (Jan) Haskins, Michael Joe (Jeannie) Haskins and David (Nancy) Haskins; grandchildren, Chelsea (Kirk) Hastings, Micah Haskins, Shae Haskins, Nicole Haskins and Breanna (Robenson) Massy; great-granddaughter, Ellie Hastings; special friend, Pat Eden. Billie lived life to its fullest. She loved her country and was always proud to tell people she was a Navy wife. She loved her family dearly. She could always be found outdoors or enjoying a game of golf with her husband and sons. She loved all kinds of music; church music, worship songs and especially music from the jitterbug era. She enjoyed dancing and anytime she heard Glenn Miller, Big Band, etc. her feet just couldn’t be still. She loved attending church, listening to the preaching and spending time with her church family. Most of all she loved the Lord with all her heart. We take comfort in knowing she is rejoicing in Heaven without pain and confusion. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, May 5th at 12 pm from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home in Hendersonville with Pastor Deanna Wall officiating.
