Obituary of Oliver Franklin Smith, Jr.

Oliver Franklin Smith, Jr., age 85 of Hendersonville, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020. Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 23rd at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Nesbitt officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 22nd from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 23rd from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, with Brannon Smith, Stephen Crabtree, Christopher Smith, Timothy Crabtree, Christian Crabtree, and Tyler Haines serving as pallbearers. Mr. Smith was born July 11, 1934 in Fayettville, TN to the late Oliver Franklin Smith and Margerate Williamson Smith. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Peggy Abbott of Gallatin, TN, Mike Smith (Tina) of Gallatin, TN, Vickie Baker of Gallatin, TN, and Jackie Smith of Tiptonville, TN; and a host of great nieces and nephews. Mr. Smith served our country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the VFW and worked as a truck driver for MGM Industries and Sealtest Milk.
