Obituary of Barbara Ann Dallas

Barbara Ann Dallas, age 61, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, severed earthly ties on Thursday, June 25th, 2020 at her home in Lafayette surrounded by her loving family. The Funeral Service, conducted by Elder Dean Dyer, will be held on Sunday, June 28th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in the Macon County Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, June 27th from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, June 28th from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. She is survived by loving husband of 39 years, Bobby Dallas; daughters, Amy Dallas and Sara Dallas; granddaughters, Emma Kate Gentry, Raylin Witcher, and Collins Karaline Wheat; brother, Barry (Jodie) Davenport; sister-in-law, Judy Polston; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Neida) Dallas, Jimmy (Wanetta “Pearl”) Dallas, and Bobby Sewell. She was preceded in death by parents, Goldman and Edna Lou Woodard Davenport. Barbara Ann Davenport was born on Wednesday, November 12th, 1958 to the late Goldman and Edna Lou Woodard Davenport. She met the love of her life, Bobby Dallas, and the couple united in marriage on Friday, February 27th, 1981. Barbara was more than just a Mama to her two beautiful girls. She was a listening ear, a guiding hand, and a friend when they needed it most. Her favorite title quickly became “Nana” to her three grandbabies, which were spoiled beyond measure. Her family was her entire heart and soul. She was blessed with a green thumb and loved gardening and flowers. She enjoyed doing DIY projects, listening to music, and watching Food Network and the Home and Garden Channel. Barbara brought a great light to the world with her sweet soul. The trails of beautiful memories that she leaves behind will forever be remembered.
