Obituary of David Graves, Sr.

David Graves, Sr. age 79 of Portland, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020. Funeral Service will be Friday, July 3rd at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Bo Johnson and Bill Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 2nd from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Friday, July 3rd from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with Danny Troutt, Ronnie Satterfield, James Spears, Dale Thacker, Bobby Matthews, and Chris Matthews serving as pallbearers. Mr. Graves was born February 1, 1941 in Gallatin to the late Tom M. Graves and Eula O’Neal Graves. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Jesse Lee Graves; and sisters, Frances Troutt and Peggy Gregory. He is survived by wife of 60 years, Carol Tippitt Graves of Portland; son, David Graves, Jr. of Portland; brothers, Jr. Graves (Sylvia) of Castalian Springs and Skip Graves (Patsy) of Florida; sister, Betty Beasley (David) of Gallatin; 1 grandson, Will Graves (Jessie); and 1 great grandson, Cole Graves.
