Obituary of William Reed Brooks

William Reed Brooks, age 82 of Indianapolis, IN, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020. Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 27th , at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Pastor Leon Graves officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Sumner Memorial Gardens. Mr. Brooks was born April 26, 1938 in Bethpage, TN to the late Clarence Brooks and Bessie Reed Brooks. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Vicky Brooks; granddaughter, Sara Herbin, and brother, J. C. Brooks. He is survived by his son, Ricky Brooks (Lori Schwab of Indianapolis, IN; brothers, Glen Brooks (Carol) of Nashville, IN and Gary Brooks (Carol) of Bethpage, TN; sisters, Louise Stamps of Gallatin, TN, Eva Nell Shoffner of Kokomo, IN, Irene Bennett of Gallatin, TN, Dorothy Bandy (John) of Gallatin, TN, Rubie Bush of Kokomo, IN, and Barbara Tomlinson of Lafayette, TN; 2 grandchildren, Josh Stevens (Lindsey) and Zach Rodenbeck; and 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Brooks owned Brooks Auto Care for 46 years. He trained and showed Tennessee Walking Horses and loved country music. Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
