Obituary of Marie I. Smith

Marie I Smith, age 88 of Mt. Juliet, formerly of Cerritos, CA, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020. Celebration of Life Service will be held October 10, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Sellars Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet, with Pastor Jim Johnston officiating. Marie was born February 20, 1932 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Chester Cook and Gertrude Schilling Cook. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul W Smith; and an unborn child. She is survived by son, Mark Smith and his wife, Veronica, of Garden Grove, CA; daughters, Paula Smith of Greenville, SC, Pamela Levy and her husband, Lawrence, of Mt. Juliet, sisters, Anita Weidenfeld and Irene Kliesch of California; cousin Claire Vincent of California; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Marie was a loving wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a foster mother to many special needs babies until they found their forever homes. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards, and loved the ocean. The family would like to extend their gratitude for your prayers and support.
