Obituary of Barbara Duffer

Barbara Jean Duffer, age 77 of Hartsville, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020. Funeral Service will be Monday, October 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, October 4th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and Monday, October 5th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Duffer was born July 22, 1943 in Gallatin to the late Eddie B. Lynch and Lena Huddleston Lynch. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Duffer; brothers, Roy Allen “Buddy” Lynch, Johnny Lynch, Willie Lynch, Jimmy Lynch, and Billy Lynch; sister, Maxine Salvato; and brother-in-law, Stu Salvato. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James “Dinky” Duffer of Hartsville; sons, Ty Waggoner (Balinda) of Gallatin and William Lee Duffer of Castalian Springs; daughter, Teresa Carman (Troy) of Hartsville; 6 grandchildren, Amanda Livingston (Bobby), Matthew Carman, Whitney Whittaker (Kevin), Brook Williams, Ginger Duffer, and Jacob Duffer; and 6 great grandchildren. Mrs. Duffer retired from the Sumner County School System in the cafeteria at Guild Elementary for many years. Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
