Obituary of Louise Gillihan

Louise Gillihan, age 95, of Portland, TN, passed away on Monday, October 5th, 2020. There will be a private graveside service for the family with Bro. David Andrews officiating. Louise was born on February 7th, 1925 to W.T. Wheeler, Sr., and Martha (Suttle) Wheeler. In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband, L.C. Gillihan, siblings, Lillie Mae Butler and W.T. Wheeler Jr., and sons-in-law Pete Gammon and Kyle Justice. She is survived by her children, Linda Gammon, Lynn Justice, and Dean “Bud” Gillihan (Cindy); grandchildren Melissa Gammon, Melody Reibly (Anthony), Nicholas Gammon (Shannon), Brittany Boeninghaus (Allen), Courtney Justice, and Chris Gillihan; five great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed fellowshipping with friends and family and worshipping the Lord. Louise also worked at Gillihan’s Garage and Service Station for many years, getting to know and love many members of the Gallatin community. She was a doting grandmother and loving neighbor, with a gentle spirit that was a blessing to be around. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church P.O. Box 102 Gallatin, TN 37066.
