Obituary of Wm. Eugene "The Peanut Man" McEwen

Wm. Eugene McEwen “The Peanut Man,” age 74 of Hendersonville, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Bertie McEwen. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol McEwen; sons, Kenneth (Stephanie) McEwen and Jason (Megan) McEwen; sister, Sandra Newman; grandchildren, Linda and Mandy, Savanah McEwen, Patrick McEwen, Caleb McCoun, Elizabeth McCoun, John Carney, Danielle McEwen, and Natalie Romer; two great-grandchildren. We will forever hold in our hearts Eugene McEwen. Eugene had a deep love for God, family, and country. He lit up a room with his smile, laughter, and love for others. He always had a listening ear and meaningful advice. Our Eugene will be dearly missed and has left a legacy that will last for generations. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, December 18th at 1 pm from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville. Interment will follow the service at Beech Historic Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, December 17th from 5-8 pm and Friday, December 18th from 12 pm until time of service. The family welcomes flowers; however, in lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Eugene McEwen to Center Point General Baptist Church.
