Obituary of Louis Gene Summer

Louis Gene Summer, age 60 of Portland, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 16th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, January 15th from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 16th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Old Brush Cemetery, with Chris Arnold, Matthew Johnson, Wade Summer, Josh Hobdy, Chaise Ford, and Thomas Huffman serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Family Heritage Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses. Mr. Summer was born October 8, 1960 in Sumner County to the late L. C. Summer and Marie Russell Summer. He is survived by wife of 43 years, Brenda Sue George Summer of Portland; children, Shannon Todd of Gallatin, Shelly Summer Durham of Portland, Louis P. Summer (Courtney Cutrell) of Gallatin, Aleasha Neal (Jamie) of Portland, Wade Summer (Sue) of Oak Grove, and Timmy Summer of Gallatin; brothers, Carl Summer (Margaret) of Fairfield, Raymond E. Summer (Phyllis) of Telford, TN, Raymond A. Summer of Gallatin, and Joe Summer of Gallatin; sister, Mary Bundy (Steven) of Fairfield; 5 grandchildren, Rebecca Denney (Brandon), Matthew Johnson, Louis Elliott Durham, Carter Louis Cutrell, Joelene Whited, Thomas Huffman, Tyler Neal, and Takoda Neal; and 1 great grandchild, John Luke Allen Denney.
