Obituary of Betty S. Gregory

Betty S. Gregory, age 80 of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 10th at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Elder D.W. Storey and Elder Kenneth Summers officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 9th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 10th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Brian Doss, Jimmy West II, Don Presley, Phillip Searcy, Adam Leath, Harold Fuqua, Jackson Leath, and Mason Leath serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Searcy and Tommy Johnson. Mrs. Gregory was born December 17, 1940 in Sumner County to the late Hardy Brown and Zelia Pryor Brown. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Joe Brown; and sister, Lorene Crowder. She is survived by husband of 64 years, Buford Gregory of Gallatin; daughters, Sandra Doss (Mickey) of Gallatin, Peggy West (Jimmy) of Castalian Springs, and Bertha Johnson (Tom) of Pelham, AL; sister, Ann Fuqua Hesson of Gallatin; 6 grandchildren, Brian Doss, Brandy Doss Presley (Don), Kelly Leath (Adam), Jimmy West II, Heather Searcy (Phillip), and Tommy Johnson; and 5 great grandchildren, Kendal Shatswell, Jackson Leath, Elizabeth Searcy, Mason Leath, and Andrew Searcy. Mrs. Gregory was saved when she was 8 years old at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from Gary Company after 24 years of service.
