Obituary of Doris Rogers

Doris Rogers, age 76 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, March 23rd at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, March 22nd from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, March 23rd from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Adam Rogers, Matt Rogers, Jeremiah Cooper, Zac Cooper, Samuel Rogers, and Felicia Winstone serving as pallbearers. Flowers are appreciated, or donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses. Mrs. Rogers was born November 18, 1944 in Bethpage to the late Eugene McWhirter and Clara Scoggin McWhirter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Bobby McWhirter; and sister, Shirley Hunt. She is survived by husband of 56 years, John Rogers of Gallatin; daughter, Tammy Goodman of Gallatin; son, Tommy Rogers (Teri) of Gallatin; 7 grandchildren, Shannon Cooper (Jeremiah), Adam Rogers (Karis), Matthew Rogers (Kayla), Heather Goodman, Brittany Goodman, Felicia Winstone, and Dustin Buckman; 9 great grandchildren, Zac Cooper, Jeddah Rogers, Samuel Rogers, Katelin Rogers, Bella Rogers, Emmett Rogers, Hunter Lee, and Dustin Buckman Jr; 1 great-great grandchild, Novva Cooper-Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of Gallatin Church of Christ. Doris was a bus driver for the Sumner County School System and retired after 31 years of service.
