Obituary of Steve Istvan Kortely

Steve Istvan Kortely, age 86 of Castalian Springs, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021. Funeral Service will be Monday, April 5th at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Bill Roark and Bro. Clyde Walker officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 5th from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203. Mr. Kortely was born December 19, 1934 in Budapest, Hungary to the late Jozsef Kortely and Maria Gocza Kortely. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Linda McCloud Kortely. He is survived by sister’s-in-law, Anita Anderson of Gallatin, who took care of him since his wife Linda died, Irene Kiser of Westmoreland, Donna Slayton of Portland, and Myrtle McCloud of Portland; brother’s-in-law, Danny McCloud of Murfreesboro, Ernie McCloud of Castalian Springs, and David Creasy of Florida, whom he was very fond of; some of the people who were very important to Steve were Margaret Davis, Mark Clark, Clyde Walker, Steve Sibbald, Rick Hardin, Bubba Payne, Bob Presley, Moira Presley, and Mike Haraseviat “Mikey Boy”; cousins, Csilla Kortely of London, England and Julianna Nagy Ficsorne (Steve) of Hungary; and nephew, Jozsef Kortely of Hungary. Steve has lived in the United States for most of his life, however, most of his family still live in Hungary. Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
