Obituary of Mr. Robert William Rodgers

Mr. Robert William Rodgers, age 54 of Portland, TN passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in Gallatin, TN. Mr. Rodgers was born January 22, 1964 in Columbus, OH. Mr. Rodgers is survived by his wife, Tammy of Portland, TN. His parents, Glenn and Wanda F. Jarvis both of Stewart, OH. Two sons, Zachary Rodgers of West Jefferson, OH and John Stewart (Josie) of Gallatin, TN. Three daughters; Tiffany Hester (Jason), Hannah Stewart (Austin) and Malayna Stewart (Thomas) all of Portland, TN. Two brothers, James Jarvis (Gerri) of Grove City, OH and Mike Rodgers (Anna) of Columbus, OH. Four sisters, Connie Sanders (Charles) of Canal Winchester, OH, Roberta Hedden of South Carolina, Tina Taylor (Matt) and Billie Rodgers both of Columbus, OH. Six grandchildren; Trinity Hester, Jay Hester, Ellie Hester, Daniel Phye, Brackston Hodges and Easton Hodges and two soon to be grandchildren. A special aunt, Virginia Stone and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rob loved to spend time with his family and was the life of any party he attended. He loved to fish and to take fishing trips to Canada. He was a Cincinnati Bengal, Ohio State Buckeye and Cincinnati Reds fan. Rob worked at Water Control in Gallatin, TN for over 20 years and his fellow employees were like family to him as well. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, from 9:00 AM until until service time Sunday at Gilbert Funeral Home. The family has chosen cremation following the services on Sunday. His ashes will be taken to Canada where they will be spread at his favorite fishing spot.
