Obituary of Mr. Matthew Thornton

Mr. Matthew Thornton, age 39 of Cottontown, TN passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at his home in Cottontown, TN. Mr. Thornton was born September 11, 1978 in Franklin, KY. Mr. Thornton is survived by his wife, Rebecca Lee Thornton of Cottontown, TN. A daughter, Zoey Thornton of Cottontown, TN. His mother, Sheila Escue of Portland, TN. His father, James Thornton (Melinda) of Bethpage, TN. A brother, Daniel Thornton (Angela) of Bethpage, TN. Maternal grandparents, Donald and Nolia Escue and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Matthew was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Geraldine Thornton. Matthew was a graphic designer and a member of Generation Church. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery in Oak Grove. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, from 9:00 AM to service time Thursday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
