Obituary of Mr. Charles C. Seymour

Mr. Charles C. Seymour, age 75 of Portland, TN passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his home in Portland, TN. Mr. Seymour was born September 7, 1942 in Schenectady, NY the son of the late Charles Sr. and Louise Seymour. Mr. Seymour is survived by his wife of 30 years, Susan Seymour of Portland, TN. A son, John Seymour of Marshall, VA. Two daughters, Tammy Obendorffer of Gloucester, VA and Lisa Kirk of Savannah, GA. A step daughter, Kylene Babula of Portland, TN. A sister, Margaret Wexler of Schenectady, NY. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Along with his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Seymour and a granddaughter, Geahna Evans. Mr. Seymour was retired from the US Army (Sergeant First Class) after 20 years of service. During his time in the service, Mr. Seymour was honored with the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, the Army Commendation Medal, the Purple Heart, the Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, along with serval other service ribbons, citations and medals. Charles was a lifelong member of the DAV and the VFW and member of McKendree United Methodist Church in Portland, TN. Memorial services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, April 8, 2018 at McKendree United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held that Sunday from 1:30 PM until service time at McKendree Untied Methodist Church. Mr. Seymour will have graveside services at a later date in Arlington Nation Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
