Obituary of Mrs. Nancy S. Mitchell

Mrs. Nancy S. Mitchell, age 76 of Portland, TN passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Westmoreland Care and Rehab in Westmoreland, TN. Mrs. Mitchell was born June 22, 1940 in Robertson Co., TN the daughter of the late Estle and Naomi Graves. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter, Denise Rogers (Larry) of Franklin, KY. Two sons, Billy Simms (Marie) of White House, TN and Mark Simms (Elizabeth) of Portland, TN. Two brothers, Larry Graves of Cottontown, TN and Gary Graves (Judy) of Franklin, KY. Two sisters, Janet Burgett (Jim) of Rock Bridge, TN and Niela Donoho (Michael) of Goodlettsville, TN. Five grandchildren; Bronson Rohrs (Jennifer), Samantha Simms, Kaysie Steele, Nathaniel Steele (Ashley) and Dakota Simms. Six great grandchildren, Dalton Rohrs, Kilton Rohrs, Bailey Hall, Peyton Steele, Ava Simms and Addison Simms. Nancy was a dispatcher for the Portland Police Department for 30 years. She was of the baptist faith. Along with her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Mitchell. A daughter, Glenda Simms; a brother, Terry Graves and her step mother, Mary Graves. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dog, Buttons. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and from 9:00 AM until service time Thursday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
