Obituary of Carol Jean Tackett

Carol Jean Tackett, age 83 of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 in her sleep at her residence.

Carol was born in Pueblo, CO on May 27th 1940 to Gwendolyn Duke and Mulford (Bud) Aycock, and grew up in Utah and Colorado. She met her husband Carl at Ft. Collins high school while working at a drive-in A&W root beer stand and had been married to him for more than 62 years. Carol loved drawing and fashion. During her spare time she could be found sketching. Carl, Carol and the family lived in many different cities including: Coffeyville, KS; St. Louis, MO; Fort Collins, CO; Denver, CO; San Antonio, TX; Portland OR; Honolulu, HI; Farmington, NM; Los Angeles, CA and Seattle, WA. Her desire to be near her grandchildren also led her to Lehi, UT and then to Hendersonville, TN. She had many interests including reading, helping Carl with his work, exploring the many different areas they lived as well as doting on her cats. She enjoyed various types of music and would often go to concerts in the park. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

Her surviving family includes her children, Jeffrey Carl (Heidi) Tackett and Tracy Lynn Tackett; grandchildren, Justin Carl Tackett, Nicholas Alexander Tackett, and Jessica Lilla Tackett; brothers, Ernest (Hannah) Aycock and Randy (Susan) Aycock.

 

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Carl Tackett; granddaughter, Katrina Tackett; parents, Bud and Gwen Aycock; sister, Anita Shoemaker; brothers, Gary Aycock and Thomas Aycock.

 

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 20th at 12:00 PM from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in White House with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, January 20th from 11:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM.
