Obituary of Tim Dillard

Timothy Alan (Tim) Dillard, 69, of Lebanon, TN, passed away on March 26th in Murfreesboro, TN.

Funeral service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church on Friday, March 29th at 11am with Reverend Jeff Streszoff of Grace UMC and Reverend Jacob Armstrong of Providence UMC officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens, West Division St. Visitation will be held at Sellars Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet on Thursday, March 28th from 4-7pm.

Tim was born in LaPorte County, Indiana to Charles Robert and Dorothy Alice (Shoaf) Dillard on June 2, 1954. He went to high school at William Henry Harrison High School and graduated in 1972. He went on to earn a degree in Safety Management from Indiana State University. He worked in the field of Safety/Risk Management for 46 years most recently at Travelers Insurance. He enjoyed relaxing with a cigar and bourbon or watching his favorite team The Titans play.  Tim was an avid motorcycle rider for many years. He received numerous accolades and awards in his field of expertise over the years and was involved in the St. Paul’s/Grace UMC Men’s Club, sang in the choir, volunteered with the youth group and was very active in QAD Sunday School class.

Tim is survived by his spouse of 47 years, Deborah Kay (Emory) Dillard of Lebanon, Tennessee.  Daughters: Mandi (Dillard) Linde and husband Will, Amy (Dillard) Robinson and husband, Jake; Grandchildren: Wren, Maizie, & Wiley Linde; brothers Denny Dillard (Kathy) and Rob Dillard (Barbi), step-sister Kay Hurst (Ron) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob Dillard (Paula) and Dot Mornout (Dick), father-in-law James S Emory, brother, Mike Dillard, brother-in-law, Ben Emory.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Summit Hospital ICU nurses and staff for making Tim’s final days comfortable. Special thanks to all the friends and family who supported the family throughout the last week.
