Obituary of Billy Kyle Justice

Billy Kyle Justice, age 53 of Portland, passed away Friday January 22, 2016. Funeral Service is Thursday January 28th at 12:00 noon from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Brent Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memory Gardens, with Mike Madden, Stephen Parker, Terry Butler, Greg Shoulders, Nick Baskerville, Lewis Douglas, Israel Garcia, and Mick Taylor serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday January 27th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., and Thursday January 28th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Kyle was born December 21, 1962, in Sumner County to Gradie Tucker Justice and the late Billy R. Justice. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, L.C. Gillihan; grandparents, Charles and Ruby Tucker, Mina Slicer, and Delta Justice. Kyle is survived by wife of 31 years, Lynn Gillihan Justice of Portland; two daughters, Brittany Boeninghaus (Allen) of Gallatin, and Courtney Justice of Portland; mother, Gradie Justice of Portland: two brothers, Jeff Justice (Nancy) of Castalian Springs, and Mike Justice of Portland: mother-in-law, Louise Gillihan of Portland. Kyle was a 1981 graduate of Gallatin High School and worked for Bosch Braking Systems for 20 years as a manufacturing engineer. He was very detail-oriented and a hard worker. Many remember him working on his tractor, in his shop, or on his next project. He loved to talk and get to know people and was always finding ways to help others. He had a testimony of salvation and was a member at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. After living with ALS for 12 years, he is finally at peace and home with the Lord. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN. 38101-9908 .
