Obituary of Evelyn Scherrer Wilkes

Evelyn Scherrer Wilkes, age 92 of Gallatin, passed away Thursday September 15, 2016. Funeral Service will be Saturday September 17th at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Peace officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memory Gardens, with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Saturday September 17th from 12:00 noon until time of service. Mrs. Wilkes was born August 9, 1924 in Dunlap, TN to the late Will Ewton and Ruth Ewton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands, Fred Scherrer and William Wilkes; brother, Charles Ewton; and sisters, Anna Lee Harmon and Mildred Ammons. She is survived by son, Steve Scherrer of Gallatin; daughter, Susan Gregory of Gallatin; sisters, Gertrude Narramore of Dunlap, TN, Lorene Evans of Signal Mountain, TN, and Marie Smith of Menlo, GA; 4 grandchildren, Blake Scherrer, Brent Scherrer (Courtney), Kaley Gregory, and Scott Gregory (Abby); and 4 great grandchildren, Faith Olsen, Kynlee Scherrer, Fox Gregory, and Milla Gregory.
