Obituary of Shirley Alyene Meeks

Mrs. Shirley Alyene Meeks, age 80 of Lafayette, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 6, at 3 PM from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Lafayette, with Brother Johnny Beaver officiating. Internment will follow in Macon County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will begin on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 1 pm until service time. Shirley Alyene Lockhart Meeks was born on December 26, 1936, in Kentucky, to the late James Leonard Lockhart and Lillie Mae Layne Lockhart. Mrs. Meeks worked in Health Care in Lafayette. She attended Walton Chapel Church. Along with her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Adams Meeks and brother James Lockhart. On Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the age of eighty years, two months, and eight days, Shirley was called to her Heavenly Home. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Meeks is survived by; Daughters, Linda Geralds and husband, Michael Patricia Owen and husband, Roger Grandchildren, Keith Geralds, Brian Geralds, David Geralds, Jacqueline Owen Whipple, and Joshua Owen 2 Brothers, Joel Lockhart Larry Lockhart, and wife Cindy 3 Sisters, Opal Jackson Alma King Paulette Boggs Seven Great-Grandchildren also survive.
