Obituary of Mary Jo Satterfield

Mary Jo Satterfield “Miss Jo”, age 80 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Funeral Service will be Friday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Joe Porter officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 23rd from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Friday, March 24th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Crestview Memory Gardens, with grandsons, along with Kevin Satterfield, Walter Spears, and Frank Rankin serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Satterfield was born May 21, 1936 in Sumner County to the late Carlos Allen and Edna Allen. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by son, Roger Allen Satterfield. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, David W. Satterfield of Gallatin; son, Joe David Satterfield (Trudy) of Gallatin; brother, Carlos Allen, Jr. of Gallatin; grandsons, Allen Satterfield (Heather), David William Satterfield, and James Denton Satterfield; great-granddaughter, Lillian Satterfield; and daughter-in-law, Jan Graves of Gallatin. Mrs. Satterfield was a nurse for Dr. Robert Webster for a number of years, before joining the Sumner County School system as a teacher’s assistant. Mrs. Satterfield was a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church. She touched many lives with her loving and caring spirit. She loved her family and friends dearly and cherished time spent together. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
