Mary Fleming, age 88 of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017. Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 20th at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Charles Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Stalcup Cemetery, with Jimmy Shrum, Kyle Withers, Jeff Withers, Chad Edwards, Tristan Edwards, and Lance Edwards serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19th from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 20th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.
Mrs. Fleming was born April 22, 1929 in Trousdale County, to the late Hurlin Thomas Burns and Myrtle Lela Holder Burns. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, John Burns and Abram Burns; and sister, Georgia Withers. She is survived by sons, Lee Fleming (Karen) of Castalian Springs and James Fleming (Danielle) of Driebergen, Holland; daughter, Betty Derrick (Greg) of Surgoinsville, TN; sister, Bobbie Eller of Elizabethton, TN; 4 grandchildren, Lance Edwards (Kim), Chad Edwards (Amy), Danyell Shrum (Jimmy), and Teresa Booher; 10 great grandchildren, Tiffani Edwards, Tera Edwards, Tristan Edwards, Levi Shrum, Lana Shrum, Emma Edwards, Nick Sherfey, Marissa Booher, D. J. Sherfey, and Luke Edwards; and 3 great-great grandchildren, Zachary Edwards, P.J. Edwards, and Andrew Shefey. Mrs. Fleming was a member of the Baptist Faith.
