Obituary of Don "Grasshopper" Smith

Don “Grasshopper” Smith passed away on September 6, 2017.  The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday from 1 p.m. until the service.  The Funeral Service, conducted by lifetime friends Brother Danny Sellars and Brother Thomas Hasty, is 2 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2017 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home.  Interment in Bethany Cemetery will follow the service. Pallbearers:  Don “Bubba” Smith, Sam Branson, Allen Cox, Bradon Hawkes, Joey Hawkes, and Chase Taylor.

               Mr. Smith was a devoted father and husband.  He is preceded in death by wife of 34 years, Sheila Smith, mother Barbara Hawkes, grandmother Ida Kent, granddaughter Kayla Smith, sister Brenda Grandstaff, brothers-in-law Darrel Johnson and David Cox; sisters-in-law Sharon Johnson Hawkes and Donna Hawkes; and nephew Stevie Ray Yount.  He is survived by his two children: Sandra Branson (Sam) and Don “Bubba” William Smith (Sarah); grandchildren Niccolas and Alexis Branson, Ryen, Courtney, and Katie Smith; siblings Mike Hawkes (Debbie), Bobby Hawkes, and Debbie Pratt; aunt Carey Ann; uncle Robert Smith; mother-in-law Dorace Johnson; sisters-in-law Belinda Johnson Cox and Susan Yount, Jr. (Johnny); brother-in-law Tim Johnson (Dora); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, and devoted friends..  In lieu of donations, please make Memorial Contributions to help with funeral expenses.  Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN 615.444.9393.
